THE first stage of London 2012 may be over, but RJ Display is still celebrating its winning formula with Heskins, the leading experts in anti-slip tape, producing the BMX start ramp for the Olympic games.

RJ Display was approached by Heskins to help fulfill a request to produce and install the anti-slip tape, following Heskins’ previous successful installation at the Beijing Olympics in 2008.
On this occasion, the Lancashire based company chose RJ Display as its preferred printer for the quality output required to bring the iconic London 2012 logo to life.

Using its AGFA :Jeti 3348 Jetspeed, RJ Display printed 1m x 10m lengths for ease of transport and then Heskins pieced them back together to form the 10 metre squared branded ramp ready for the BMX athletes to begin their race for gold.

Damon Piall, RJ Display commercial director said, “London 2012 has been incredible for Great Britain and we’re really pleased to have been given the opportunity to be a part of it thanks to Heskins.”

Although Team GB may not have won a BMX medal this time, RJ Display and Heskins are certainly celebrating a job well done.

SATURDAY 7^th July was like Christmas day for RJ Display; its new AGFA :M-Press Leopard had finally arrived!

With bated breath the assembled team of staff watched as the crane slowly but surely started the process of unloading the sections ready for the installation of the wide-format industrial production engine into RJ Display’s recently extended print house.

After detailed planning with AGFA whilst coordinating the purchase and move of its additional 5,500 square feet of space, you can understand why everyone at RJ Display is excited about the Leopard’s arrival.

As the team of willing volunteers, including RJDA managing director, Rob Walker assembled to be the first to lay their hands on the latest piece of kit, the air was filled with a buzz that you wouldn’t normally find at work on a Saturday morning.

Rob took a break from the move to say, “To be installing the :M-Press Leopard is something we’ve been working towards and the move has gone quicker than we anticipated, which means we can get it up and running and producing quality print in the next few days.”

Adding to their already impressive plant list, the :M-Press Leopard will ensure RJ Display’s business goes to the next level in high quality print and top productivity ensuring the global brands and major retailers the East Midlands company is used to dealing with can expect a quicker output.

This wide-format industrial production engine can handle rigid and flexible materials up to a maximum size of 1.6 x 2.6m and offers a choice of manual or auto-loading options.

A customer, trade and media event will be held in September to officially open the new area of RJ Display and welcome the :M-Press Leopard.

As the final part of the installation takes place, staff at RJ Display is working out who gets to have a go first. We’re guessing Rob might be at the front of that line!

RJ Display launches its new website following a brand refresh producing a fresh approach to large format print.

As a leading presence in the large format print industry, RJ Display prides itself on producing quality design and output for the leading retailers, print managers and exhibition companies, so the website had to reflect this.

Often the first time a client sees RJ Display, the website coupled with a brand refresh is brighter, more inviting, focused on its customers’ needs and packed with loads of information pertinent to the industry.

RJ Display’s new website and brand comes at a time of continued growth as it extends its premises into a neighbouring site to make room for a new Agfa :M-Press Leopard arriving in July.

Damon Piall, commercial director said of the changes, “We were fully aware our brand and website needed to be something we are proud of. After all, we’re directing new and existing clients to it so we need to show off what we can do on the best platform possible. Our new website definitely does this.”

Part of the RJDA group, which includes a fully integrated marketing communications agency, the RJ Display brand and website was managed, designed and developed by the RJ Design Associates team.
“The RJ Design Associates team worked incredibly hard to get the brand and website turned around in under four weeks” added Rob Walker, managing director of RJDA. “No mean feat considering they were also handling our clients deadlines at the same time.”

RJDA are delighted to unveil the latest addition to its portfolio of large format digital printing solutions – the HP Scitex FB950.

Hot on the heels of its debut at the Sign UK exhibition at the NEC, Birmingham -  – the recent acquisition is aimed at strengthening RJDA’s position as the leading provider of large format print solutions in the East Midlands.

The HP Scitex FB950 can print directly on to a wide variety of rigid media which include corrugated or compressed carton; foam board; plastics; or specialty material like glass, wood and aluminium as well as more traditional applications for events and exhibitions including posters, banners, signage, display boards, portable displays and floor graphics.

Capable of printing flatbed, sheetfed and rollfed at up to 80 m2/hr in fast mode the 2.5m UV printer will also print double-sided and edge-to-edge, utilising 6 colour UV-curable inks (C, M, Y, K, Lc, Lm).  Consistent print results are achieved thanks to 12 printheads with variable sized drops printing up to 1200 x 600 optimised dpi continually monitored by an onboard camera and spectrophotometer.

Coupled to the above, embedded software and a touchscreen control panel will help to deliver increased quality, productivity, value and versatility, as well as offering the ability to lower the environmental impact of RJDA’s printing.

RJ Display were delighted to be part of the recent ‘Peep Schuh’ high street store refit for Schuh’s flagship Liverpool store.

A quick turnaround was the order of the day so, taking designs originated by the client, RJ Display were able to print and apply die cut self cling window vinyls in just 2 days to deliver this highly original and eye-catching window graphic – complete with Amsterdam style peep holes!

The new graphics succeeded the 15m x 2.5m pin board style hoardings printed direct to substrate on RJ Display’s 2.5m wide Large Format HP Scitex Printer.

Similar innovative point of sale campaigns for the Livingston based footwear retailer have seen the RJ Display production team produce a die cut ‘freestanding Adam Ant’ and a series of 1m square post it notes for its Dublin store.
